DNS Error and Free Proxy Server List
Yesterday I had my screen blank when I tried to visit my blog with error windows came up saying that I had DNS Error problem. I’m quite a newbie in internet world especially if it’s related to information technology and programming. So to be honest I don’t know what is DNS Error and what’s causing it.
I tried to find the solution via google and found some forums. Most of them I didn’t understand. But I found short comment about the tips on how to solve it. It said that all I have to do is just :
1. Go to command prompt via start menu
3. type: ipconfig/flushdns
4. Enter
5. Type: ipconfig/registerdns
6. Enter
I did all that then I restarted my computer. Unfortunately, the problem was still there.
Then I remembered that there’s failure on the previous attempt to connect to my blog before that. I thought maybe it has something to do with this. I just guest that maybe I need to refresh the browsing history from my computer. So I did this :
1. Open my Internet Explorer
2. Click “Tools” then “Internet Options”
3. Under “Browsing History” click “Delete”
4. On “Temporary Internet Files” click “Delete Files”
5. Restarted the computer.
Thank God the DNS Error problem disappeared.
Actually I’m not sure which one from those two tips that really worked. Perhaps the last one or maybe both. I guess it’s no harm to try both if you encountered similar problem. Unless off course if your browsing history is very important to you don’t try the second one.
Anyway, if the problem still exist and you really need the internet connection badly. Perhaps you can try browsing the internet via proxy server connection. All you have to do is to configure the proxy connection manually by entering the IP address and port on the connection settings.
The list of free proxy server can be found here. It’s quite up to date. You can find some proxy servers which are anonymous, transparent, and high anonymity.
prend, I don’t think your problem caused by temporary files, proxy, etc but it’s DNS problem. If so, here my tips:
1.) Find out the right DNS when you have good connection or ask to your call center or google the recommended DNS for your connection, or may be Open DNS (never used it). To test whether the DNS good or not for you, just type in cmd (if I’m not wrong ): nslookup sigitsunggih.net [ip addr of DNS]
2.a) If you single PC, set DNS manually at your browser (IE, Mozilla, Eudora, ….)
2.b) if you use LAN, set DNS manually at your router
3.) From cmd: type ipconfig /renew

oops! sorry bro, I was wrong. You can’t set DNS from your browser, but from your PC if you use single PC.
AFAIK, the DNS servers either from Indosat n Telkom is not so excellence as other ISPs. Therefore if you use thess ISPs, you’d better use other ISP’s DNS, IIX (he he…) or your own DNS if you have domain.
well I use starone as my connection bro. I’m not sure if it has something to do with it though

he he… gw taunya soal2 DNS ini juga gara2 starone, jamannya awal2 starone, kl ga salah rp. 100k unlimited. Waktu itu gw aktivis soal2 starone di forumponsel.com, tp kebanyakan problem kalo udah pernah lancar konek ya gara2 server DNS-nya sering banget down selain overload user.
Berhubung sy ga punya hosting, waktu itu sih (lagi2) sy masih bisa akses punya cbn, centrin (jkt) ato iix tp lama2 cbn dan centrin ditutup — kali’ ketahuan kl servernya suka dibajakin heh he he…
