Bajaj, Metro Mini, and Bimbar

Bajaj is still one of my favorite public transportations. During my vacation to Jawa Island a month ago I used bajaj to drop me from Blok M Plaza to Jalan Cikajang. It costed me Rp 15.000. I’m not sure if it’s expensive or not. Doesn’t matter, I could taste again how bajaj can really manouvre between a narrow gap in crowded traffic. Sometimes even in opposite direction

One of the strength of Bajaj for me is the close connection between the passengers and the surrounding. To see, to hear, and to feel the atmosphere along the street when you’re passing by. You can have fresh air from the open window without the need to “expose” yourself in public like using an ojek. Sometimes you can have some water drops on your shirt during heavy rain. One of the major weakness of bajaj is when you look straight ahead, most of your view will be blocked by the driver’s. I don’t mind if the driver is a cute girl. Seeing her lovely neck would be a major bonus. Unfortunately, it’s not happening that way

Another public transportation mode that I used during my vacation in Jakarta was Metro Mini. Perhaps it’s been almost a decade since the last time I was using Metro Mini. It took me from Jalan Bangka to Blok M. The id was S77. It’s a very cheap mode of transportation. It costed me only Rp. 2500 for long or short trip. For this kind of mass transportation, actually I prefer a big bus. Half or 3/4 bus sometimes makes me feel so big. Especially if I have to stand up along the trip.

In Batam we also have our own versions of “Metro Mini”. One of them is Bimbar, stands for Bintang Kembar (Twin Star). The size of the bus is similar. The difference is, like almost all mass transportation mode in Batam, Bimbar charge you based on the length of your trip.

Unfortunately I missed the chance to travel using Busway in Jakarta. So I can’t tell anything about it. Also to compare with Batam version of Busway. Yup, we also have our own busway here. Well…… actually it’s kinda different

Keren2 fotonya… serasa menaiki bajaj & busnya
