I read the news ticker on this blog header telling the story about “Gondola Tower Snaps in Canadian Resort”. Man, I can’t imagine how it happened. It must be really scary accident

I’m always affraid of falling from the sky. Whether from the airplane, or from skyscrapper building. I’ve never tried to ride inside gondola cars. I guess this incident makes it much less possible.

From CNN and Associated Press news, it’s confirmed that the accident takes place at Whistler ski resort in Canada. It took more than 3 hours to evacuate 53 passengers from 30 gondola cars after a tower supporting the cables partially collapsed.

Fortunately the police said that there’s no serious injuries at the ski resort, which is to host the alpine events of the 2010 winter Olympic Games. One of the gondola cars hit a bus shelter, while two other were left dangling when the tower collapsed. A crane was brought in to support the leaning tower and fire crews worked quickly to evacuate three gondola cars.

I don’t know about you but to read this story makes me think that gondola cars is not a safe and cozy place anymore to spend time during your holiday. But I tried to search about gondola cars and found some really interesting pictures below.

It’s called “Sauna Gondola”. It’s a gondola but with sauna facility inside. It takes the rider to about 700 metres up to a ski station where there is a major sauna. It’s a little bit “sauna minded” don’t you think

You can find this “Sauna Gondola” in Finland and I believe it’ll be very very expensive to ride this. But I’m not sure if those 2 girls are actually the “escort girls” as part of the package that you can pay. If they are, perhaps if the tower collapses and causing your gondola cars hanging on the sky for more than 3 hours you won’t mind at all
