Festive Season Here We Go!

People in England seem to love football very much. They are even willing to sacrifice something important only to watch a football match. Including christmas holiday.

England is the only major European country in football who still have fixtures around christmas day. It’s part of their traditions. While many footballers across Europe are having great time with their family during festive season, all footballers in England have to work their socks off  in a hectic schedule to win the match for their clubs.

This year, festive season football in England will start on Friday 26 December 2008. A day after christmas. Followed by the next match which will be held on Sunday 28 December 2008. Two games in three days. It’s a very hard fixtures. Not to mention that English football is a truly men sport. It’s a lot more physical compare to how football is played in all countries across Europe.

I can’t imagine if it is me who have to play football a day after Eid ul-Fitri then followed by another one couple days later. Lucky me I’m not Steven Gerrard or Fernando Torres. But to be honest I would be willing to sacrifice my Eid ul-Fitri holiday to play football for $150.000 a week just like how much Liverpool FC pay them to do so

Next is the prediction of the so called “big four” in festive season fixtures.
