Movie Review: Bedtime Stories
Bedtime Stories is a family/comedy movie. One of the production company of this movie is Walt Disney so no wonder this movie has a fantasy atmosphere in it. It tells the story about a hotel handyman, whose life changes when the bedtime stories he tells to his niece and nephew start to magically come true.
Adam Sandler plays Skeeter Bronson, a hotel handyman. He’s been working for the entire of his life as a handyman in the hotel used to be owned by his fahter. The new owner never give him a chance to prove that he’s capable enough to run the business. One day his sister Wendy, played by Courteney Cox, has to leave the town for a job interview in other city. So Skeeter has to take care of her two children during the night.
Skeeter has to tell bedtime stories to Patrick and Bobbi, his niece and nephew, every night before they go to sleep. Strange things start to happen when those bedtime stories suddenly come true. Skeeter realized that this might be his chance to change his miserable life. He has to take full advantage of his bedtime stories for himself.
Bedtime Stores offers some funny moments for growing ups. But certainly there are many more for children. The story is intended for family audiences where the children can have some laughs together with their parents so it’s quite expected to be cliche. Most notably in the ending.
Adam Sandler gives a decent performance as Skeeter Bronson. As usual he can invite some laughs from his monologues and close up dialogues. His presence combined with the story make Bedtime Stories a quite warm movie it has to be said. It has some very good family values in it. No matter how cruel the world is, your family is always right there for you.
There are some really interesting co-stars appeared in this movie. First of all, Guy Pearce. I really love his performance in one of the most outstanding movie of all time, Memento. It’s kinda fun to see him again in this movie. And there is Lucy Lawless, the star of Xena: The Warrior Princess TV series. I told you already about Courteney Cox, haven’t seen her for awhile. You can find Jonathan Pryce as well in here. If you remember Pirates of The Caribbean trilogy and Bond’s Tomorrow Never Dies perhaps you’ll remember his face.
But one co-star that really stands out is Rob Schneider. Yup, that funny guy from Deuce Bigalow movies. Perhaps he’s not really a co-star in this movie, just more like a cameo. But the first time he enters the screen is absolutely hillarious. I think I had my best laughs at that moment.
Generally, Bedtime Stories is a good option for you to take your family out to watch a movie. Especially if you’re Adam Sandler fans. One thing that crossed my mind after seeing this movie was it seems that Hollywood now have only two quite consistent comedians in movies: Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller. Both have been great in their respective movies. Well I think I miss Jim Carrey funny movies

Awww I’ve always loved this kind of movie! Do you think it’s the same kind of movie like The Night at The Museum? Speaking of Rob Schneider, he always gets the best laugh even when he only shows up for a few seconds, I think his face itself is funny, hehe.
I haven’t yet watched The Night at The Museum but from the trailer it seems like it has more fantasy genre than this one. This is like some ordinary movie actually. With a little touch of fantasy

I think that I will give lower rating than yours for this film (consider 2/5). Yeah its funny, but its also really like bed time story. Listen the story, and than forget it when you feel sleepy.

Try to find DMC and read the main story. You’ll like the brilliant idea for a comedy.
