Obama Stimulus Plan and Bloggers
As we know, the congress have finally approved Obama stimulus plan to try to recover the economy situation in US. This stimulus plan has the total of $825 billions funds consist of $550 billions on spending and $275 billions on tax cuts. With that huge amount of money Obama predicts that US government will be able to create about 3-4 millions new job. So what’s the correlation between this stimulus plan with bloggers?
There are many areas covered within those $550 billions budget on spending. From infrastructure to health. From education to energy. But one thing that interests me is that Obama has a plan to spend $6 billions to expand high-speed Internet access in rural and underserved communities. What does he want from such plan?
Well, it’s quite easy to predict that Obama would like people who loose their jobs to start their internet home business. They should try to earn some money from the internet. The government will build the infrastructures to help them. Making money through the internet will become one of the solutions to the economy crisis in US.
I watch CNN news quite often during this crisis and see so many news about big and established company which collapsed and had to cut many jobs. GM and Toyota in automotive industry. Sony and Samsung in electronics industry. Not to mention all financial institutions like banks. Almost all companies in the “real” world experience similar thing.
But what about some big players in the “cyber” world? I just accessed and read the Google earning reports. It’s stated there that Google have bigger revenue during this crisis. Their revenue during the 4th quarter 2008 is up 4% compare to the 3rd quarter 2008 and up 18% compare to the 4th quarter 2007. Great. I haven’t found the official Microsoft earning reports for the 4th quarter 2008. But they expect a range of $17.3 billions to $17.8 billions, UP from the 3rd quarter 2008 which was about $15.06 billions.
All signs that I mention above really brings an interesting thought. Internet business may become a primadona or at least a solution to the global crisis which expected to last in the next 1-3 years. US government also suggest that as part in their stimulus plan to build more broadband internet connection in US. And they allocate as much as $6 billions to do that.
So what should we do as a blogger? Well, don’t let yourself left behind. People may start to consider making money online is important much much more now. If you’re in already then you should work harder. This is the opportunity that you might not want to pass. Keep blogging and open your eyes wider for any opportunities that come your way. Let us be an important part of the future. The future in the internet home business

That’s actually a pretty interesting outlook you’ve got there on the stimulus. Though I think the number for the Internet infrastructure should be a lot more and am surprised it isn’t. Mostly though I think the bill is pretty much a payoff and isn’t much in the way of stimulus. Which is a big problem.
You are right though a lot of people are going to have to get real creative on creating jobs because of the amount of jobs that are being axed.
I saw one report today says this bailout could cost up to $4 trillion when all is said an done because of the bad bank.
One think I think is for sure, inflation is on the way. Which probably means gold and silver will go through the roof and the dollar near the floor. Looking at ExactPrice right now shows gold and silver going up following the gdp numbers released today. $924 and $12.51 and ounce.
I tend to think the bad times are here for a few years so I’m focused on savings and preparation.
