Deddy Mizwar for President
I read on the newspaper today that Deddy Mizwar may become one of the candidates in this year presidential election. I don’t know why but I’m happy to read the news. I’m even imagining myself giving my vote for him.
Actually what are the things that needed to become a president? Smart. Have the experience of organizing something big. Have clear and constructive vision about the future. Etc and etc. But do the Indonesian people really care about that? Since 1998 after the reformation began I don’t see that. Indonesian people who mostly are paternalistic tend to look more on how charismatic the candidate is. We even had a president who didn’t graduate from university. So I think why not have an actor as the Indonesian president.
I remember Ronald Reagan who was the US president from 1981-1989. He’s also an actor. He was elected twice, means the americans really like him. Was he a good president? Well, I don’t know to be honest. But looking on his resume, before he joined politics and was eventually elected as the governor of California, he was the president of SAG (Screen Actors Guild), the american labor union of film and television workers. Maybe similar to Deddy Mizwar who is currently the head of “Badan Pertimbangan Perfilman Nasional”, a national organization in movie industry as well 
It’s said that Reagan was very charismatic. People also really like his speech. The things that a good actor can do it easily. A good actor can motivate people by his speech. I have to admit I don’t have many presidents who can do that in my country. Only Soekarno I think. The rest are just presidents.
I don’t know if Deddy Mizwar can follow the footsteps of Ronald Reagan and I also don’t know if he has similar capability and – most importantly – charisma as Reagan. But to be honest I like seeing him on TV. Especially when he’s talking about my country. Maybe he can be as charismatic as Reagan. Again, maybe. But I’m sure about one thing. He’s a better actor than Ronald Reagan
But don’t get me wrong. I don’t have any serious problems with Indonesian current president, SBY. I see my country moving forward under him eventhough it’s very slow. Actually one thing which has been stucked to my mind is that I don’t like how big parties push some potential independent candidates out of the upcoming election in order to keep the exclusive right for the big parties only. I would love to see one or more independent candidates in this year presidential election. And Deddy Mizwar might be able to fill that.
Well, I just hope nobody will tackle him as the presidential candidate. He’s got no political power to back him. He’s got no big parties as his “sponsor”. I think all that he got is only several very small parties behind him and maybe few people who like to see an alternative to this country’s major players in politics. Just like me

pusing gue ama ni negara. lama2x maia estianty deh nyalonin diri. and bakal banyak tuh pasti pemilihnya

kebayang kalau dia jadi beneran dan teropsesi sama nagabonar akan banyak lapangan sepak bola, dan team nas pssi masuk piala dunia
oh ya? wah bakal keren donk kalo begitu
hmmmm…. menarik juga kalo dia beneran maju.. sayang, kayaknya UU-nya belum memperbolehkan ada kandidat presiden dari partai yang tidak mencapai batas suara tertentu di pemilu
yo’i pren. Keliatannya memang demokrasi kepartaian ga akan memungkinkan hal itu bisa terjadi

Hmmm….it’s like a trend that Indonesian so called celebrities involve in politics regardless their background education and political experience. I’m one of Deddy Mizwar’s fans and kinda oppose him to join this crazy political world. Still loves him as an actor……I also read that even Ahmad Danny want to be a vice president…..gila yah

Anyway, for Ahmad Dhani’s case I believe the party will only use him as the vote getter though
