Movie Review: Burn After Reading
I’ve watched several movies from Coen brothers. I guess I like their movies eventhough they’re not some fancy big budget movies. The stories and the characters of their movies have always been really unique and different. Burn After Reading is their latest movie and after watching it I have to say that it’s really worth watching 
Burn After Reading has a tagline on its poster. It’s said “Intelligence is Relative”. This movie indeed tells the story about some stupid behaviour of some people who should have enough intelligence not to do it. Those stupidities in the end create such mess.
It starts with Osbourne Cox, a CIA analyst, who lost his job in the agency. He plans to fill his jobless days writing a memoir about his life in CIA. His memoir file stored in CD – which really looks like a top secret file – accidentally scattered in a gym locker. Then there’s Linda LItzke who works in that gym and has been really obsessed to have at least four plastic surgeries to make her look a lot younger. She doesn’t have a romantic life and she doesn’t have money. Her colleague, Chad Feldheimer, found the CD. Both are trying hard to use the CD to get huge amount of money. And I mean really hard
The story is not finished just yet. Osbourne Cox has a wife, Katie Cox, who cheats with someone else named Harry Pfarrer, a womanizer and a man who’s really deeply truly obsessed with sex. Harry Pfarrer is married, but he likes to sleep with many different women. Guess what, one of them is Linda Litzke Oh yeah, there’s a scene which shows how obsessed he is about sex. I won’t spoil it but It’s surprised me a lot
Those cross interraction between all the characters are eventually resulting in a ironic tragedy. Even involving deaths. But this movie doesn’t try to describe it in a hard and violence manner. Instead, it shows more on the characters and their stupid – and funny – behaviour. The multiple shameful events caused by those characters that must be covered so nothing’s really happened. That’s what the CIA top superior wants in the end. But even he looks stupid when saying that.
There are several high calibre names of actors/actress played in this movie. John Malkovich played as Osbourne Cox, Frances McDormand as Linda Litzke, George Clooney as Harry Pfarred, Brad Pitt as Chad Feldheimer, and Tilda Swinton as Katie Cox. All performed really well. But Frances McDormand and Brad Pitt for me played the best part.

2. jangan2 film ini diputar di batam karena XXI lagi kehabisan film. udah tahu kan pembatasan copy master film di indonesia yang berujung banyak film holywood ke-pending masuk indo. film watchmen belum jelas masuk apa kagak
iya On, pilem di batam simpang siur nih kadang cepet kadang lambat kadang keterlaluan hehe. Wah baru tau dr elo tuh On. Kalo gitu mgkin prioritas kopi hanya buat pilem2x summer dan christmas/new year ya

masih banyak orang indonesia yang *no offense* rasanya belom keotakan sama film ini.. ah… kebayang deh apa kata mereka tentang film ini dan betapa ga akan lakunya film ni di 21!!!
Jarang jarang liat brad pitt jadi orang bego kaya ginih huhuhuhu dan ending yang menurut gw spektakuler dan ajaib!!! amusing!!!
