Backpackers Hotel in Malioboro
If you’re looking for a place to stay near Malioboro Yogyakarta, I’m sure you can find it easily. Especially if you’re travelling by train. Because Malioboro is just several steps away from Tugu train station in Yogyakarta.
There are many hotels in Pasar Kembang street beside Tugu train station. I’ve never tried to stay in any hotels in Pasar Kembang before so I can’t give you any information about the price. But I’m sure you can find a cheap hotel there.
But if you want to stay right in Malioboro street there are several hotels available as well. Not as many as in Pasar Kembang though but it’s worth to try. I stayed in one of them when I visited Malioboro for the first time. It’s not actually a “hotel” because it’s just an ordinary house and i think there’s a family living there.
They have five rooms for rent at the 2nd floor. There are also three bathrooms for the guests to use at the same floor. Inside each room you can find a bed for two person, a chair, a small closet, and also a small fan. How much will it cost? They only ask Rp 60.000 or about $5-6 for a night. And you get a free cup of tea every morning as well.
This “rented rooms house” located after Malioboro mall at the left side of Maliboro street if you walk from Tugu train station. There’s a small alley and you need to go left only about 20 meters. There’s also a “small hotel” in front of this one but I don’t know about the price to stay there.
