Trans Jogja – Busway Jogja
I forgot to take a pic at the bus itself, so I started with bus shelter pic above 
. Trans Jogja is Jogja’s very own version of Busway. They have several routes marked by route numbers like 1A, 2A, and so on. This bus only stops at dedicated bus shelter. So that’s the only place where you can get on and off the bus.
Trans Jogja, similar to Busway in Jakarta, is fully air conditioned bus. So you are not allowed to smoke inside. It has the face-to-face seat arrangement as you can see below. It has some space for standing passenger as well.
The price to take Trans Jogja bus is a little bit more expensive than the ordinary bus. Ordinary bus cost you Rp 2500 flat for a single trip while Trans Jogja cost you Rp 3000. You can get much cleaner and colder bus with that extra Rp 500
Since Trans Jogja only serves several routes, they use word “transit” for passengers who would like to go some place and need to switch to a different Trans Jogja bus. Like myself when I need to go to XXI movie theatre from Malioboro. I took Trans Jogja bus route 1A which drove a long way to the Adi Sucipto (Yogyakarta) airport where I had to “transit” at the shelter and switch to another Trans Jogja route 1A bus which heading to the other way.
I think it took me more than 30 minutes to go from Malioboro to XXI movie theatre using Trans Jogja. For the return trip I also took Trans Jogja bus to go back from XXI movie theatre to Malioboro, using the same 1A route. Only this time I didn’t need to “transit”. And only then I knew that actually XXI movie theatre is not that “more than 30 minutes” far from Malioboro . I think you only need about 10 minutes to travel between both places by a motorcycle.

gue pas pulang dr XXI kalo ga salah naeknya jam 7-an deh. Kalo lebih malem lagi ga tau juga yah. Tp emang sih kalo bus umum rata2x berhenti ngider jam 6 sore-an. Hehe iya smoga lebih betah

saya malah kepengen naik Damri Jalur 15, lebih terasa kekhasan Jogjanya daripada naik bus yang adem dan bersih ini

. gw dah naik tuh trans Jogja, sayang cuma rute2 tertentu yah…tapi lumayan nyaman lah
